Like AIR but free + open source, and easy to extend.
Key Benefits:
- Use web technologies for desktop apps.
-Blur the edges between desktop and web, and online and offline.
My crystal ball, this is just one of many on the horizon.. essentially this is a unification attempt to allow web powered apps to span the huge device ecosystem from underpowered mobiles that fit into your pocket, to enterprise class rich internet apps.

Yeah, Appcelerator’s Titanium platform is a very interesting attempt. Beside the usual web technologies there’s also a support for Ruby and Python. Unfortunately the documentation of Titanium and its APIs is highly insufficient. I already checked it out several weeks ago (when the PR3 was released) and put it away due to the lack of fundamental docs. I’m keen about the (hopefully successful) future of Titanium.
