The blog is styling with the Thesis theme, so now you can...actually see hyperlinks - for some reason the previous design decided to make them invisible...brilliant eh, did I mention I love useability? just wanted to make sure you were REALLY paying attention . Now the intense categorization system I have created is actually visible, before I wanted to do something snazzy in flash. Also access the several years of archives, even I couldn't easily access. All those plexing issues lasting for years fixed in a few minutes...
The dangers of being a webdesigner is that far to often, at the end of the day, the last thing you want to do is work on your own website. I almost shudder to give people my business card for fear they will check it out. I'm so busy building cool things, I haven't really had to network much ever. TroyWorks is a great example of this site rot...never ...quite getting on the active todo list. The main menu was written back in I think 2004, in Flash 6/7, ... though honestly I still think it's neat.
The previous blog theme had big plans, some neato search and graph categories based off the Graphion search engine. I had even contracted to have an interface so that the entire UI could be done in Flash using AMF via RPC, would have rocked in conjunction with the Graphion search. I still have plans for a better code integration. However it never happened, and probably won't happen, as cool and cutting edge as it would have been, passive income is more important at this stage.
As easy as Thesis is, it did take me a bit to figure out the widget system, apparently in previous themes the widgets were pre installed. In my other blog they are empty so I didn't really noticable they weren't there.
Thesis did require me to upgrade to a later version of wordpress, which meant backing things up. Grrr. I had a contractor do the the autoupgrade for wordpress but apparently that didn't work properly...now who knows where they are!
There are many pros to using Thesis I go over in my new blog on marketing strategy, tools and some on product creation. This blog will stick on flash related development.
